Will Dunlop and Tyler Weber scored three goals apiece in leading the Varsity Blues men’s lacrosse team to their third straight win, a 10-7 victory over the Carleton Ravens on Sunday, September 25 at U of T’s Back Campus.
The Blues got out to a 5-2 lead after the first two quarters of play with single tallies from Weber, Dunlop, Michael Buwalda, Eric Shedlosky and Marc Koukoulas.
Dunlop would add his second of the game in the first 11 seconds of the third quarter. Carleton’s Rajinder Wasson attempted to rally the troops with two quick goals, but the Blues held them off as Weber added his second and third goals of the game to give U of T a 9-4 lead heading into the final frame.
Carleton fought back with three unanswered goals to cut the lead to two; however, the Blues fought back and a final insurance marker from Dunlop would end the game with a 10-7 Blues win.
Weber now leads all players in the Canadian University Field Lacrosse League with 15 goals.
The Varsity Blues return to action next Saturday, October 1 as they travel to Montreal to take on the McGill Redmen. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
