BLUES FALL TO REDMEN ON THE ROAD

The Varsity Blues men’s lacrosse team ended their three-game win streak on Saturday October 1 with a 15-6 loss at the hands of the McGill Redmen.

The Blues are now 3-2-0 and remain in second place in the East behind the Redmen, who are undefeated in seven games to start the season.

Despite the loss, Blues attacker Tyler Weber (Toronto) added to his impressive totals, scoring two goals and adding an assist. Weber now has 17 goals and 21 points in only five games this season

Toronto natives Michael Buwalda and Jordan Robertson also tallied a goal and an assist each in a losing cause.

The Blues led the game 3-2 after the first quarter, on goals from Weber, Buwalda, and Eric Shedlosky. But the Redmen would respond with four unanswered goals in the second quarter to take the lead for good.

McGill was led by Alex Rohrbach’s five-goal performance and Jishan Sharples, who netted four goals and an assist. Rohrbach now leads CUFLA with 19 goals in six games.

They are back in action tomorrow, Sunday, October 2, at Bishop’s University where they will take on the Gaiters. Game time is set for 11 a.m.
