BLUES GET PAST PALADINS

The Varsity Blues men's volleyball team recorded a 3-1 (25-19, 24-26, 25-20, 25-21) victory over the RMC Paladins on Saturday, January 29 in Kingston, Ont.

The Blues came on strong, winning the first set 25-19. The Paladins however answered back, stepping up their game and taking the second 26-24. The Blues went on to squeeze through two narrow wins to secure their fifth win of the season.

Matthew Vares of Scarborough, Ont., tallied a game-high 16 kills for the Blues, followed up by veteran Adam Palmer and Jake Dysselhof, who both landed 12 kills each. Mitchell Woodside of Clyde River, P.E.I., also nabbed eight kills in the win.

Sean Vanthournout of Sackville, N.B., led the Paladins with eight kills in the loss.

The Varsity Blues return to action on Friday, February 4 when they travel to Hamilton, Ont., to take on the McMaster Marauders. The game is scheduled for 8 p.m.
