BLUES SHUT OUT RMC FOR FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON

The Varsity Blues men’s rugby team earned their first regular-season victory in two years with a 13-0 win over the RMC Paladins on Saturday, September 25 at Scarborough Campus.

U of T’s last win came on Sept. 13 versus the Trent Excalibur, when the Blues came away with a 19-0 victory at Back Campus.

Ricardo Gibson (Maho Bay, Virgin Islands) and Vancouver native David Stockton accounted for the Blues tries, while Alex Dwhytie of Etobicoke, Ont., kicked a penalty goal to round out the scoring.

“It was a solid team effort,” said Varsity Blues assistant coach Paul DiCarmine. “We played very composed defence, stuck to our game plan and really executed today.”

The Varsity Blues return to action next Saturday, October 2 when they travel to London, Ont., to take on the Western Mustangs. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
