The Varsity Blues men’s tennis team opened the 2010 season with a 5-2 victory over the McMaster Marauders on Saturday, September 18 at Scarborough Campus.
Despite going 2-2 in doubles action, McMaster took the point* based on sets won. Toronto’s number two doubles pair of Artur Suski and Cyrus Elmpackmackie defeated Marauders Keon Maleki and Pete Askew 8-6, while Adrian Cozma and Mohamed Helmi came out on top over McMaster’s Chris Edwards and Paolo Marcolo in the number four position.
After falling in the number one singles match, the Blues dominated the rest of the day, taking points in the number two-five games.
*Scoring: Score 1 point per match win for singles and 1 point for the team winning 2 or 3
