MEN’S TENNIS FALLS TO WARRIORS 4-3

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s tennis team dropped a close 4-3 decision to the Waterloo Warriors on Sunday, September 27 in Waterloo, Ont.

The Blues took the doubles point, winning two of the three matches on the day.

Toronto’s number one doubles team of Stefan Srnuc (Belgrade, Serbia) and Arren Skandarajah (Toronto) came away with a close 8-7 victory, while Chris Ma (Toronto) and Alex Duvall (Pont-Rouge, Que.) took the number two match 8-5. Cameron Starratt (Bedofrd, N.S.) and Eren Turkmenler fell 8-6 in the number three match.

Srnuc and Ma fell in the number one and two singles matches, while Skandarajah dropped a close number three match 4-6, 7-6, 6-4.

After losing the first set 7-5, Turkmenler came back to win the number four match 6-0, 7-5. Brendan Easterling (Kent, U.K.) accounted for the Blues third point, winning the number five match 7-6, 6-1.
