The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s water polo team continued their winning ways with a 21-5 victory over the Western Mustangs and a 17-6 win over the McMaster Marauders on Sunday, November 1.
Luke Spooner (Aukland, NZ) and Calum Kendrick (Ottawa) led the Blues with five goals apiece against the Mustangs at Canada Games Aquatic Centre. Tuna Tali (Istanbul, Turkey) scored four, while Graeme Myers (Toronto), Cagri Ilhan (Istanbul, Turkey) and Alan Chung (Ajax, Ont.) tallied two each. Tanner Regan (Surrey, B.C.) rounded out the scoring with one goal in the victory.
In their second game of the day, Chung scored five goals to lead the Varsity Blues at IWC Pool. Tali and Ilhan each tallied three, while Regan, Kendrick and Max Pottier (Kitchener, Ont.) scored two apiece in the victory.
With the victories, U of T improves their record to 5-0 and sit tied with the Carleton Ravens atop the OUA standings with one game in hand.
The Varsity Blues return to the pool on Wednesday, November 4 as they host the McMaster Marauders at Varsity Pool. Game time is scheduled for 9 p.m.
