The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s lacrosse team fell 15-6 against the Carleton Ravens on Saturday, October 24 at the Back Campus field.
The Ravens took an early lead, scoring the first three goals of the game. Despite being undermanned, Andrew Kerr (Clarington, Ont.) and Mike Ayotte (Peterborough, Ont.) answered back for the Blues in the last few minutes of the first quarter as the Blues trailed 3-2 heading into the second frame.
Defender Kevin Sloan (Mississauga, Ont.) evened up the game in the second quarter, however the Ravens managed to slip past the Blues, and went on to score another three goals.
Corey Fowler (Niagara On The Lake, Ont.) was the leader for the Ravens, followed closely by Tim Bergin (Kingston, Ont.) and middleman Wasson Rajinder.
The Blues were unable to recover their position in the second half despite a valiant effort. Notably, Chun Sterling (Montreal, Quebec) and James Forbes (Campbellville, Ont.) scored two more points for U of T.
The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s lacrosse team are back to take on the Queen’s Gaels on Sunday, October 25th.
