MEN'S RUGBY FALLS TO GRYPHONS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s rugby team fell 56-12 to the Guelph Gryphons on Sunday, October 18th in Guelph, Ont.

Despite their best effort, the Blues were unable to defeat the Gryphons who were led by Thomas Sobotka (Mississauga, Ont.) and Ryan Hanley (Barrie, Ont.).

First-year standout Umbreto Cappella (Calgary, Alta.) and commerce major Godfrey Nthunzi (Johannesburg, Za.) were Toronto’s top scorers, each tallying one try apiece. Notably, Benny Mak (Hong Kong) also scored two points on a conversion to round out Toronto’s scoring.

The Blues are scheduled to take on the Brock Badgers next Saturday, October 24 at the University of Toronto Scarborough field. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
