WOMEN WIN 7-0, MEN FALL TO WARRIORS

The Varsity Blues men's tennis team team came up short against a solid Waterloo Warriors squad, losing 5-2. London native Rob Schmidt and rookie Andrei Melchisedec (Toronto, Ont.) were the lone singles winners. Schmidt was also partnered with first-year tennis player Cameron Starratt (Bedford, N.S.) for the lone doubles win. The duo pulled off a very close game, winning by an 8-7 score.

The men are now fighting for the last playoff spot with only two matches remaining. They will face the UOIT Ridgebacks and McMaster Marauders prior to the OUA championship October 17-18 at the University of Western Ontario.

The Varsity Blues women’s tennis team defeated the Waterloo 7-0. At this point the ladies are fighting for the last playoff spot at fourth place. With two matches remaining against OUIT and McMaster, the squad is vying for two wins to put them into the
playoffs.

The Blues tennis teams travel to Oshawa to take on the Ridgebacks on Friday, September 26 at 4:30 p.m.
