TENNIS: WOMEN SPLIT, MEN UNDEFEATED

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s and women’s tennis teams travelled to Montreal this weekend (Sept. 12-13) to take on McGill University and the University of Montreal.

The women’s team defeated the McGill Martletts 4-3 on Friday. Emma Ferguson led the squad with wins in both her singles and doubles matches. On Saturday, the Blues were not as fortunate and ran into a strong U of M team, losing 7-0.

The Varsity Blues men’s tennis team defeated McGill in exhibition play on Friday. Then on Saturday, the Blues came away with a 4-3 victory over the first-place University of Montreal squad. First-year player Cameron Starratt and teammate Michael Klassen came through with the last two singles wins to clinch the win for the Blues.

The Blues next matches are this Saturday, September 20 versus the Western Mustangs at UOIT and Sunday against Waterloo Warriors at York University.
