First-year forward Alex Thicke tallied two goals in leading the Varsity Blues field hockey team to three crucial wins, including a 3-1 victory over the defending OUA champion Guelph Gryphons, this weekend.

A first-year physical education and health student, Thicke was instrumental in Toronto’s come-from-behind victory over the Gryphons on Saturday morning.

The North Vancouver, B.C., native followed that up with a goal in each of U of T’s shut out victories over the Western Mustangs and Queen’s Gaels.

Thicke is now tied for sixth in OUA scoring with seven goals in 11 games.
