Second-year forward Joey Manchurek racked up five points as the No. 4 nationally-ranked Varsity Blues men’s hockey team kept their win streak alive with two dominant victories this past weekend.
The Tecumseh, Ont., native assisted on Toronto’s first and third goals as the Blues came away with a 6-3 victory at York on Friday night.
An industrial relations and human resources major, Manchurek followed that up with a three-point night in a dominant 7-0 victory over the Brock Badgers on Saturday.
He assisted U of T’s first goal, the eventual game-winner, and went onto assist the third goal and score the fifth goal, all on Toronto’s top-ranked powerplay, in the Blues 14th straight victory.
Manchurek’s five-point weekend catapulted him to a second-place ranking on the OUA leaderboard with 12 goals and 16 assists for 28 points in 18 games so far this season.
