A fourth-year outfielder from Richmond Hill, Ont., Michael Deluca had a monster performance at the plate as the Varsity Blues baseball team opened their 2021 season with four lopsided victories over the York Lions.
 
Over two games, Deluca went 5-for-7 at the plate with a .714 batting average, hitting two singles, two doubles and one triple. He scored six runs and knocked in two RBI.
 
In Toronto’s 20-1 victory on Sunday afternoon, Deluca went 4-for-4 at the plate, scoring four runs and driving in another.
