Jack Turney, a third-year geology major from Market Harborough, England, led the Varsity Blues men's squash team at the 2016 Black Knight Canadian university and college championships this past weekend at U of T.
Turney earned a fourth-place finish in the men's open division. He defeated Brock's Vincent Tonna 11-4, 11-7, 11-6 on Friday and topped Connor Turk of the University of Manitoba, 12-10, 11-3, 9-11, 11-3, on Saturday to earn a spot in the semifinals.
There, Turney fell to Waterloo's Blake Reison 9-11, 6-11, 4-11. He went onto drop the bronze-medal match, to Mohanad Hekal of Ryerson.
