Second-year forward Taylor Trussler scored four goals and added one assist in leading the University of Toronto Varsity Blues to a semifinal series victory over the Ryerson Rams this past week in OUA women’s hockey action.
 
The kinesiology major scored three goals, including the double-overtime game-winner in U of T’s 4-3 Game 2 victory on Saturday night at Ryerson. With Toronto trailing 1-0 after 40 minutes, Trussler scored two goals in the first 4:16 of the third period to spark the Blues offence and netted the game-winner 5:05 into the second overtime frame. 
 
A native of Ayr, Ont., Trussler scored her first goal of the series in Game 1, and added one assist in U of T’s thrilling 3-2 overtime Game 3 victory on Sunday night. With the series win, the Blues punched their ticket to the 2020 U SPORTS national championship in PEI and will host the OUA McCaw Cup Final next Friday, March 6 at Varsity Arena at 7 p.m. Advance tickets are on sale here.
