Samar Qaedizadeh was named the OUA player of the year in leading the Varsity Blues women’s tennis team to their first OUA championship title since 2013 this past weekend.

A third-year management major from Toronto, Qaedizadeh went a perfect 4-0 over the weekend.

She went 2-0 in the No. 2 singles spot, defeating Brock’s Arijana Rudic 6-0, 6-3 on Saturday and Western’s Jenny Cape 7-5, 6-0 on Sunday.

The 2019 OUA all-star also teamed up with Mara Stroe to go 2-0 in No. 1 doubles action. The duo topped the Badgers 8-2 and went onto defeat the Mustangs 8-3 in the championship final.
