As he has done for most of the season, Michael Braithwaite led the way with a gold-medal performance for the Varsity Blues at the 2009 OUA rowing championships this weekend.

The Duncan, B.C. native got off to a quick start in the men's single and held a considerable lead at the halfway mark, leaving every other sculler in a battle for second place as he claimed OUA gold.

The fifth-year cognitive science major also earned a silver medal with partner Mike Harowicz in the men's double.
