Alina Dormann led the Varsity Blues women’s volleyball team to a thrilling 3-2 OUA quarter-final victory over the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday afternoon at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.
 
The third-year right side hitter led all players with 27.5 points, coming from a game-high 22 kills, three aces and 2.5 blocks. The Ottawa native also tallied 18 digs to advance the Blues to their seventh consecutive OUA Final Four appearance.
 
The Blues will now take on the McMaster Marauders in OUA semi-final action this Friday, March 9 at Mattamy Athletic Centre at 8 p.m. The winner will advance to Saturday’s gold-medal match to battle for the provincial banner and the OUA’s lone berth to the 2018 U SPORTS championships.
