Second-year defenceman Evan MacEachern scored two goals and added one assist as the Varsity Blues men’s hockey team went 1-1 on their home opening weekend at Varsity Arena.
 
A kinesiology major from Dartmouth, N.S., MacEachern scored both goals as U of T defeated the Queen’s Gaels 2-1 in overtime on Friday night. He opened the scoring with off a shot from the point late in the first period and secured the win with a thrilling end-to-end rush early in the overtime period.
 
MacEachern added one assist in Toronto’s narrow 3-2 loss to UOIT on Saturday.
