Hochan Ryu, a third-year cognitive science major from Richmond Hill, Ont., boasted OUA male swimmer of the meet and Dr. Jeno Tihanyi award for IM excellence honours in helping the Varsity Blues to their 13th consecutive provincial title.

Ryu won both the 200 and 400 IM, bettering two-time Olympian Alex Baumann’s 1984 record (1:58.62) in the 200-metre event in a time of 1:58.47.

He claimed the 200 backstroke and 200 butterfly titles, while also helping the 400 medley team to an OUA record first-place finish and the 800 freestyle relay team to the provincial title.
