Fifth-year veteran Paige Schultz claimed three individual and one relay title as the OUA defending champion Varsity Blues swimming team defeated the Western Mustangs in dual-meet action this past Saturday, January 9.
Schultz met the CIS standard in sweeping the 50, 100 and 200 metre freestyle events. The Toronto native and health/geography major was first in the 50 freestyle in a time of 25.94 seconds and touched the wall in 55.17 seconds in the 100-metre event.
She was dominant in the 200 freestyle, recording a time of 1:59.73, almost five full seconds ahead of the second-place swimmer.
Schultz also helped Toronto’s 200 freestyle relay team to gold, anchoring the quartet to a time of 1:54.77, 3.55 seconds ahead of the Mustangs.Â
