Fifth-year second baseman Alika Kingsbury shined in the field in leading the University of Toronto Varsity Blues fastpitch team to a bronze medal at the OIWFA championship this past weekend.
Kingsbury, a medical radiation student, had a near-perfect tournament, converting 21-of-22 Â fielding plays over six games this weekend.
She also contributed at the plate with a .444 batting average, .474 on-base percentage, and .611 slugging percentage. The Tillsonburg, Ont., native stole two bases, drove in three runs and scored six times, including the game-winning run in the bronze medal matchup with the Ottawa Gee Gees, helping U of T to their first OIWFA podium finish since 2011.Â
