Toronto native Alex Raphael played a vital role and helped lead the men’s soccer team to a key opening day 6-0 win over the Trent Excalibur on Saturday, Sept. 6, and a 0-0 draw against the Queen’s Gaels on Sunday at Varsity Centre. The fourth-year veteran scored two goals and narrowly missed out on a third in Saturday’s game versus Trent. He tallied his first in the 14th minute and notched his second just 15 minutes later, helping Toronto to build a commanding 5-0 lead in the first half.. An arts and science major, Raphael was again very active offensive in Sunday’s scoreless affair.
