University of Toronto Varsity Blues track and field standout distance runner Gabriela Stafford won two races at the Armory Invitational, January 30-31, in New York City.

Stafford opened the race with an outstanding 2:42.75 in the women’s 1000m, breaking the U of T, Armory Track and Athletics Ontario record. Her time leads all CIS runners in the event and sits 11th on the IAAF world rankings for the 2015 indoor season.

The second-year physical science major and Toronto native followed that up with another first-place finish on Saturday, winning the 800m race in a time of 2:06.49.
