Varsity Blues fencer Hans Wolfgramm claimed double gold and helped the U of T men’s team edge out the two-time defending champion RMC Paladins at the 2008-09 OUA men’s fencing championship on Sunday, Feb 15.

The Toronto native won the Charles Walters trophy for the second consecutive year, finishing first in the individual men’s foil category. He was also a member of the Varsity Blues men’s foil team that successfully defended their title from a year ago.

Wolfgramm, a second-year arts and science student, was also named an OUA all-star for his impressive results on Sunday.

There were 36 points separating first through third and Wolfgramm’s performance was huge as the Blues escaped with an 11-point victory; Toronto 227 – RMC 216.
