First-year midfielder Nicki Parkes scored a hat trick to lead the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women’s soccer team to a 7-0 victory over the Trent Excalibur on Wednesday night.
A native of Sarnia, Ont., Parkes opening the scoring with the eventual game-winner in the 8th minute. She added her second of the game in the 37th minute and completed the hat trick in the 84th minute.
An engineering major, Parkes also helped the Blues to a 1-0 victory over the Ryerson Rams on Sunday, as U of T recorded their sixth straight win and moved into sole possession of second place in the OUA East division.
The University of Toronto is the proud host of the 2013 CIS women's soccer championship, November 7-10, at Varsity Centre.
