Fifth-year veteran Alicia Brown won three gold medals in leading the Varsity Blues women’s track and field team to a silver-medal finish at the 2013 CIS championships at the University of Alberta this past weekend (March 7-9).
The Ottawa native helped Toronto’s 4x200 relay team to a new CIS and Canadian record, running a 24.1 second split to cross the finish line in 1:36.53. Brown then anchored the 4x400m relay team to a first-place finish, also on Saturday night, finishing in a time of 3:42.90.
Brown opened the weekend with a gold medal in the women’s 300m on Friday night, crossing the finish line in 38.28 seconds.
