Third-year standout Vanessa Treasure earned five medals, including two individual titles, in leading the Varsity Blues women’s swimming team to a silver medal at the 2013 OUA championships this past weekend (Feb. 7-9) at Varsity Pool.
The Mississauga, Ont., native opened the meet by winning the women’s 200 breaststroke in record-breaking time (2:29.18) before helping U of T to a silver medal in the 800 freestyle relay later that night.
After earning silver medals in the 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley (IM) races on Friday, Treasure came back to take the women’s 400 IM title on Saturday night and won the Dr. Jeno Tihanyi award for the second straight year. She was also named an OUA first team all-star for her efforts.
