Sophomore forward Paul Van De Velde scored three goals in leading the Varsity Blues men’s hockey team to a 1-1 road trip this past weekend.
The Mariapolis, Man., native notched two goals in a tight 7-4 loss to the Guelph Gryphons on Thursday night. Van De Velde opened the scoring just six minutes into the game, and then brought the score within one late in the second with a powerplay marker.
A second-year economics major added his third goal of the weekend, and second on the man advantage, in a dominant 5-2 win over the Brock Badgers.
Van De Velde has notched five points in the last five games.
