Second-year forward Tyler Luikkonen scored two goals and added two assists as the Varsity Blues went 2-0 this weekend in OUA men’s hockey action.

The Sault Ste Marie, Ont., native assisted the opening goal and tallied the game-tying marker as Toronto defeated Ryerson 3-2 in front of a boisterous crowd of 3,000 students at TDSB Hockey Day in Toronto.

A biochemistry major, Liukkonen then scored the first goal of the game on the powerplay and set up the game-winner with 2:01 remaining in the game.

The Varsity Blues are currently 5-0-1, undefeated in regulation time, and sit atop the OUA East standings.

MBNA believes that with personal drive and the right kind of support, someone who thrives on the playground can one day ascend the podium. MBNA is a long standing affinity partner of the University of Toronto, providing the U of T MasterCard® to over 50,000 students and alumni. Congratulations to the MBNA Athletes of the Week.
