First-year pitcher Renee Ridout was unstoppable on the mound and at the plate in leading the Varsity Blues fastpitch team to a 5-1 record over the weekend.
 
The Toronto native went 4-0 in four starts on the mound, helping to lift the Blues into third place in the Ontario Women’s Intercollegiate Fastpitch Association (OWIFA) standings.
 
Offensively, Ridout was 13-for-16 with an astounding .813 batting average and 1.5 slugging percentage. Ridout, a first-year journalism student, had eight RBI and hit six singles, three doubles and four triples in six games.
