Fifth-year midfielder Laura Machado led the Varsity Blues women’s soccer offensive attack in their opening weekend (Sept. 3-4) versus Ottawa and Carleton at Varsity Centre.

After registering Toronto’s only shot on net versus Ottawa on Saturday, the Mississauga, Ont., native charged the net off the opening kick on Sunday versus Carleton and scored the eventual game-winner in the 1^st minute of the match.
