Third-year medical student Ryan Zufelt earned the bronze medal in the men’s A division at the 2011 Canadian university and colleges squash championships, March 4-6, at the University of Toronto.

A native of Barrie, Ont., Zufelt defeated McMaster’s David Rossouw 11-5, 11-6, 11-8 in quarter-final action, before dropping a close 3-1 match to Alex Paisley of Calgary in the semifinals.

Zufelt bounced back with a dominating 3-1 victory over Waterloo’s Rohan Sovig in the bronze-medal match.
