Veteran swimmer Pamela Ruksys picked up four medals to lead the Varsity Blues women’s swimming team to a first-place finish at the 2010 Campbell division championships this weekend.

 

The Kingston, Ont., native won both the 400 and 800-metre freestyle events and went on to swim the first leg in Toronto’s 400-freestyle relay victory. Ruksys recorded a time of 8:38.90 in the 800-metre free, finishing almost a full five seconds ahead of teammate Heather Maitland for the win.

 

A fourth-year physical education and health student, Ruksys also placed second in the 400-metre individual medley with a time of 4:56.26.
