Vincenzo Mallia

    Women's Volleyball - Lead Assistant Coach

Vincenzo Mallia became a full-time assistant coach with the Varsity Blues women's volleyball program at the beginning of the 2014-15 season.
 
Mallia has gained tremendous international coaching experience since joining the Blues in 2014. He is currently the lead assistant coach with Canada’s senior national women’s team. Mallia has helped the national team reach incredible heights including the 2022 world championship, where Canada had their best result in history, and the 2021 & 2022 Volleyball Nations League (VNL). Vincenzo also served as the assistant coach in 2018 when the team won the bronze medal at the Pan Am Cup for the first time in 20 years and also the 2018 world championship. In 2016, Mallia was an assistant coach with Canada’s national men’s B team. Prior to that he was an assistant coach with the Canada’s junior men’s team at the 2015 FIVB junior men’s world championship and the 2015 FISU Universiade. 
 
Prior to coming to U of T Mallia worked as an assistant coach with Volleyrò Casal de pazzi in Rome Italy winning four national championships. He was also the assistant coach and training partner in Modica b1 series and also served as an assistant coach with the Slovenia national beach volleyball team from 2009-10.
