The University of Toronto Varsity Blues are excited to share the commitment of Sophia Glatter to the women's soccer program for the 2026 season.

A 5-foot-8 midfielder from Etobicoke, Glatter joins the Blues via Toronto District Christian High School, Woodbridge Soccer Club, and Juventus Glen Shields.

"I chose U of T because I was looking for a challenge both academically and physically," said Glatter. "I noticed the intensity and passion every player had for the game and that really made the decision for me. Each player on this team is incredibly talented and dedicated. It’s amazing to watch. I only hope I can give back to these girls all the effort they’ve given to include me. This is truly an awe inspiring group of people."

An versatile athlete on the pitch, Glatter has found success with both her high school and club teams. Alongside her soccer teammates she claimed the YRAA Championship in 2024, and she has competed in cross country reaching multple OFSAA championships. With her club teams, she has most recently lifted the Ontario Cup, Woodbridge Champions Cup, and were U17 National Champions with Juventus Glen Shields. 

An honour roll student throughout her high school career, Glatter is set to enter the Life Sciences program at U of T in the fall.

Students who sign a letter of intent and/or commit to Varsity Blues intercollegiate teams will be eligible to play at the University of Toronto provided they are academically admissible and have applied through the normal process with the Ontario Universities Application Centre.
