The University of Toronto Varsity Blues are excited to share the commitment of Riley Smyth to the men's volleyball program for the 2026-27 season.

A 6-foot-6 middle blocker from Toronto, Smyth joins the Blues via Oakwood Collegiate Institute and Leaside Volleyball Club.

"I chose U of T for my volleyball journey because of its strong and welcoming team, superb coaches and excellent academics," said Smyth.

A key member of several strong teams while competing with Oakwood, Smyth garnered Team MVP honours after helping the squad claim two city championships. This also allowed Oakwood to compete at the prestigious OFSAA champinships. A multi-talented athlete, Smyth was also a member of the Oakwood badminton team, earning the Coaches Choice Award.

Students who sign a letter of intent and commit to Varsity Blues intercollegiate teams will be eligible to play at the University of Toronto provided they are academically admissible and have applied through the normal process with the Ontario Universities Application Centre.
