The University of Toronto Varsity Blues are excited to share the commitment of Manu Kimel to the men's basketball program for the 2026-27 season.

"Being from Toronto, the University of Toronto gives me the chance to grow at a high level while staying close to home and being part of a University I’ve always cheered for," said Kimel.

 A 6-foot-4 point guard from Toronto, Kimel joins the Blues via the prestigious IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

Adept at attacking opposing defences with his strong ball-handling, Kimel also provides exceptional outside shooting to showcase an all-around ability. Defensively, he also has displayed a consistency in quickly closing off passing lanes to record timely steals and shift his team into a fast-paced transition offence. His play has been recognized with MVP honours.

Kimel has also excelled in the classroom, earning honour roll status. He is set to study Humanities within the Faculty of Arts & Science at U of T beginning in the fall.

Students who sign a letter of intent and/or commit to Varsity Blues intercollegiate teams will be eligible to play at the University of Toronto provided they are academically admissible and have applied through the normal process with the Ontario Universities Application Centre.
