Coach Mike Steele brings 15 years of playing experience and nearly two decades in coaching and recruiting to the Varsity Blues. A former offensive lineman and conference champion under Sonny Wolfe at Acadia University, Mike has spent over a decade coaching the offensive line for the Sarnia Sturgeons, leading them to five straight OSFL provincial championship appearances and three bowl titles. Mike focuses on meeting players where they are to build confidence, discipline, and performance. He chose to recruit for the University of Toronto because of Coach Tommy Kanichis and Head Coach Darrell Adams, believing completely in DA’s family-first culture where championships are built and nurtured through authentic player development.
