The University of Toronto Varsity Blues are excited to share the commitment of Megan Kirkpatrick to the field hockey program for the 2026 season.

A 5-foot-11 goalkeeper from Sydney, Australia, Kirkpatrick joins the Blues via Redlands and Hawthorn Hockey Club and UNSW Hockey Club.

“U of T was right for me because I knew it would provide me with so many opportunities both on the field and in my studies," said Kirkpatrick. "This balance is really important to me, and I’m so grateful and excited to be able to be surrounded by people who share the same mindset." 

A leader on her teams, Kirkpatrick served as a team captain with her high school squad in 2025 earning first team honours and the Hockey Award. She additionally earned the Best and Fairest Award across three consecutive years from 2023 to 2025. Kirkpatrick has also competed as a member of the New South Wales U18 indoor state team from 2024 to 2026.

Receiving several academic accolades throughout her high school career, including the Redlands Medal and HSC Distinguished Achiever, Kirkpatrick is set to study Applied Genetics and Biotechnology within the Life Sciences program at U of T.

Students who sign a letter of intent and/or commit to Varsity Blues intercollegiate teams will be eligible to play at the University of Toronto provided they are academically admissible and have applied through the normal process with the Ontario Universities Application Centre.
