The University of Toronto Varsity Blues are excited to share the commitment of Maddy Kim to the field hockey program for the 2026 season.

“I chose the University of Toronto because of its location in a city with a lot of opportunities and its strong reputation for academics," said Kim.

A 5-foot-4 defence from Cambridge, Kim joins the Blues via Galt Collegiate Institute and KW Dragons.

An exceptional talent on the pitch, Kim has been a consistent presence at the national level and has garnered some additional international opportunities. She has competed as a member of Team Ontario squads at both the U16 and U18 levels since 2024, and most recently represented Team Canada during the U18 Poland Tour in 2026. With her high school team she has also earned both rookie of the year and MVP honours.

Along with her commitment to the field hockey team, Kim is also set to don the Varsity Blues jersey for the women's hockey team. The dual-sport athlete will look to her consistent honour roll status throughout high school to also shine academically within the Faculty of Arts & Science at U of T.

Students who sign a letter of intent and/or commit to Varsity Blues intercollegiate teams will be eligible to play at the University of Toronto provided they are academically admissible and have applied through the normal process with the Ontario Universities Application Centre.
