The University of Toronto Varsity Blues are excited to share the commitment of Imke Arndt to the field hockey program for the 2026 season.

A 5-foot-4 midfielder and forward from Oakville, Arndt joins the Blues via Oakville Trafalgar High School and the Halton Thrashers.

“I chose University of Toronto because of the competitive and supportive environment and the chance to be part of such a strong field hockey team," said Arndt. "I’m also excited about the kinesiology program and the more hands-on side of learning it offers."

A key member of her high school team, Arndt has earned field hockey MVP in each of the last three seasons, while also garnering athlete of the year honours. With her club team, she recently earned Tournament 11 recognition at the U18 nationals. A consistent presence on the provincial team, Arndt has been a member of Team Ontario across the past five years at both the U16 and U18 levels. Arndt has additionally been part of the Canadian NextGen program for the past three years, most recently serving as team captain with the U18 national team in Poland, competing with the U21 squad in Spain, and competing indoors at the 2026 Indoor CanAm Series.

An honour roll student throughout her high school career, Arndt will begin her studies in Kinesiology this September.

Students who sign a letter of intent and/or commit to Varsity Blues intercollegiate teams will be eligible to play at the University of Toronto provided they are academically admissible and have applied through the normal process with the Ontario Universities Application Centre.
