The University of Toronto Varsity Blues are excited to share the commitment of Ellie Mullins to the field hockey program for the 2026 season.
"I chose the University of Toronto because it offers an excellent balance of academic excellence and competitive field hockey, allowing me to pursue my educational and athletic goals at a high level," said Mullins.
A 5-foot-3 midfield from Charlottetown, Mullins joins the Blues via Colonel Gray High School and Team PEI.
Mullins has already garnered much national and international experience on the field hockey pitch. The dynamic midfielder earned a silver with Team Atlantic at the U18 national championships, and donned the maple leaf of Team Canada during junior national team tours in the Netherlands and France. She has also received the MMGHL Spirit and Integrity Award and MMGHL Rookie All-Star team selection. And with her high school, Mullins has twice been named field hockey MVP, once earned flag football MVP, and this year was named Female Athlete of the Year.
Ellie will be joining her sister Maggie who is entering her fourth season with the Varsity Blues field hockey team.
An honours graduate, Ellie is set to enter the Kinesiology program at U of T this September.
Students who sign a letter of intent and/or commit to Varsity Blues intercollegiate teams will be eligible to play at the University of Toronto provided they are academically admissible and have applied through the normal process with the Ontario Universities Application Centre.
