The University of Toronto Varsity Blues are excited to share the commitment of Allie Lavis to the field hockey program for the 2025 season.
“I chose the University of Toronto because of the perfect balance of high-level academics and a competitive and supportive field hockey program that will push me to grow both off and on the field," said Lavis. "I am super excited to compete and train with the Varsity Blues!”
Lavis brings a wealth of high-performance experience, having proudly represented Canada on multiple international tours. She competed with Field Hockey Canada’s U16 team in the Netherlands in 2023, the U17 team in the Netherlands in 2024, and was selected for the U18 tour to Wales in 2025. On the provincial stage, she was a key member of Team BC Blue, capturing back-to-back gold medals at nationals in 2022 and 2023.
At Collingwood School, Lavis was a four-year member of the senior field hockey team, captaining the squad in grade 12 to a silver medal at the British Columbia School Sports Provincials, where she was named team MVP and leading scorer. She also helped secure bronze medals at provincials in grades 10 and 11. A multi-sport athlete, Lavis competed with the alpine ski team, earning podium finishes at provincials in grades 10 and 12, and traveled to the UK with her high school team in 2023.
Her club career is equally impressive. Lavis played in the Premier League with the West Vancouver Field Hockey Club, finishing second in 2024, and captained the Sea to Sky Field Hockey Club in 2023, also leading them to a second-place finish. She has competed internationally with the Rob Short Coaching Academy, winning gold at the Shooting Stars Tournament in 2023 and touring New Zealand in 2025.
