2) Varsity Blues Head Coach Rick Dilena is a national champion.
Prior to coaching the Blues, Dilena spent seven years as the men's basketball head coach at Seneca College. Known as a hard-working recruiter and exceptional motivator, Dilena was also an assistant coach at Humber College from 1988 to 1995, helping the Hawks win four national championships.

Last year the Blues finished second in the OUA East division and have made the playoffs every year in the last eight years. Also, the Blues have been ranked nationally at some point in the season for seven years running.
4) The Varsity Blues Basketball teams will soon have a brand new 2,000 seat stadium to call home.
Plans have been finalized to construct a new facility for athletic excellence at U of T. This venue will be home to the Varsity Blues basketball teams. It will feature team locker rooms, state of the art facilities and the center for high performance sport. It is scheduled to open in 2015. Click

In the last three years alone, the men’s basketball team has visited Japan, Taiwan, Serbia and the United States of America. More international trips are being planned as we speak.

The Blues have a great family oriented program. After every home game the team hosts a reception for friends and family of the program. With food and drinks for all, this reception is just one of the ways family and friends can be a part of our program.
8) Downtown Campus Life.
With its unique location in downtown Toronto, students are exposed to a variety of experiences away from the classroom and the basketball court. Toronto is the home of major film and jazz festivals, live theatre, many restaurants and four major sports teams, including hockey’s Maple Leafs, basketball’s Raptors, baseball’s Blue Jays and football’s Argonauts.

Reaching your athletic potential is easy at U of T. Our athletes have available to them, two hours every day outside of practice time for individual coaching session. Get one on one coaching and receive attention on every detail of your game as often as you want. You will also have seven days a week access to the strength and conditioning center, two swimming pools, running tracks and the Macintosh Sports Medicine Clinic.
10) We focus on both aspects of the term Student-Athlete.
Here at U of T our emphasis is not just on you as an athlete, we make sure that being a student is the first priority. We have tutors and academic advisors available to our athletes that ensure all of our athletes are prepared for life after basketball.
