Dear Student-Athlete
The University of Toronto's men's basketball team would like to express our interest in exploring the possibilities of you joining our program in the fall of 2012. U of T is Canada's preeminent academic and research institutions. The University of Toronto is widely acknowledged as one of the world's finest universities.
In addition to dominance in the academic realm of Canadian universities U of T is setting the bar in area of intercollegiate athletics. With 43 sports and state of the art facilities such as Varsity Stadium and the soon to be built 2,000 seat Varsity Field House which will host Varsity basketball games, U of T has one of the largest athletic departments in Canada.
The men's basketball program has proven that they are a top 10 team in the country. The Blues have won 14 OUA championships. To continue this tradition of excellence the coaching staff are always looking for student-athletes such as yourself that can help elevate this program to the next level. We have academic based entrance scholarships available to eligible students with a minimum of 80% out of high school. Further academic scholarships are available to students in the high 80's.
I, along with the rest of the Varsity Blues staff, have targeted you as a student-athlete that we have a great interest in. We would like to stay in touch with you throughout the year and see what possibilities there may be for you to join our program next season. If you have an interest in attending U of T, please email Michael De Giorgio your high school schedule so that a member of our staff can hopefully come and see you play this year. Also please feel free to forward coach De Giorgio any game tape or relevant information during the year. We would hope to have you visit our campus to meet our team and staff. We would also like you to attend some of our games this year as our guest.
We hope that you will consider U of T and our program as the future of your academic and athletic career, in the hope that you could be an integral part of the further success of the Varsity Blues men's basketball program.
