Women's Soccer History

The Varsity Blue women’s soccer team was established in 1985. In 2009 and 2013, the Blues hosted their first two U SPORTS championships at Varsity Centre, going 2-1 to win the consolation championship. In 2019, the Blues earned their first national medal, claiming the U SPORTS bronze medal. 

Several hundred Varsity Blues athletes have qualified for Olympic Games and FISU (international university) Games, as well as Commonwealth and Pan Am Games. Varsity Blues teams are coached by one of the most talented, acclaimed and successful coaching staffs in North America, including national team and Olympic coaches.

The recognizable Blue and White uniform represents an intercollegiate program that is one of the largest and most successful university sport programs in North America.

Women’s soccer at U of T provides student-athletes with the unique opportunity to pursue a favourite sport and a challenging academic program at one of the world’s leading public research universities.
