Biography

High School: Named the rookie of the year at MDHS...went on to earn most valuable player honours.

OVFL: Played for the Toronto Thunder, earning team MVP honours, in addition to offensive player of the year and rookie of the year laurels.

Varsity:
    2011: Dressed and started all eight games at quarterback...went 127-for-255 and 1711 passing yards and five touchdowns...became only the sixth Varsity Blues quarterback in history to throw for over 4,000 career passing yards...threw a season-high 277 yards vs Queen's on Sept. 30...ranked third on the team with 32 rushes for 114 yards and three touchdowns.
    2010: Dressed for all eight games, starting in seven...went 118-for-211 and 1304 passing yards and five touchdowns... was named the OUA and CIS offensive player of the week after making 28-of-45 passes for a career-high 343 yards and two touchdowns and gained an additional 43 yards on seven carries versus Ottawa on Oct. 2...Gillis was ranked second on the team with 245 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
    2009: Dressed and started for five games...went 38-for-96 for 491 yards and one touchdown...threw a season-high 155 yards versus Guelph on Sept. 18...recorded a season-high 43-yard throw versus Western on Oct. 24...rushed 38 times to lead the team with 228 yards.
    2008: Dressed for five games, started in four...made six receptions for 38 yards.
    2007: Dressed all eight games, started in five…shared quarterback duties with David Hamilton… second on the team in with 688 yards passing…threw a career-high 95-yard pass…third on the team in rushing with 145 yards…scored first CIS touchdown vs. Queen’s (Oct. 20).
