BLUES WIN WATERLOO INVITATIONAL

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's golf team claimed another team title, winning the Waterloo Invitational this weekend at the Cambridge Golf Club.

The victory marked a second team gold during the invitational schedule this fall for U of T, previously winning at the Guelph Fall Kickoff tournament.

Mia Wong won her third tournament of the season, scoring rounds of 72 and 74 to claim the title by a five-stroke margin. Wong has also won the individual gold at the Guelph Fall Kickoff and Brock Invitational this season. Mia Sung was right behind in second place registering rounds of 78 and 73. Rounding out the team scores, Lucie Liu recorded a score of 87 in the first round, while Yasmina Driss added an 82 during the second round to contribute to the team victory.

The Blues will next host the Toronto Invitational at the Islington Golf Club on Monday, Oct. 5. The home tournament will serve as the final invitational before the OUA Championships which are set to take place in Ottawa from Oct. 17-18.
